Ezer for Survivors (EfS)

While many organizations currently address the needs of Holocaust survivors, many lack a personalized touch. At RWRN, we’ve heard from survivors that they can feel especially lonely before the weekends and holidays.

Ezer for Survivors intends to bridge that gap through our network of chaplain volunteers and a community hub.

Following the horrific terrorist attacks in Israel on October 7th, the RWR Network recognized a specific need in its Jewish members. In early November, 2023, Ezer — Hebrew for help — was formed.

RWRN has been actively serving the needs of Holocaust survivors for over five years. After 10/7 and the global increase in antisemitism, RWRN recognized the need for another level of service to survivors.

  • Time is of the essence as even the youngest survivors are aging rapidly, facing additional health issues and increasingly lonely.

  • There is also an alarming increase in antisemitism causing further feelings of vulnerability for Holocaust survivors.

In the past 5 years, RWRN has:

  • Served over 3,600 Holocaust survivors in person and virtually

  • Created and hosted 600+ seminars, Zooms, presentations, and trainings

  • Created and distributed 750+ original worksheets, newsletters, pamphlets, and proprietary information, distributed to thousands of individuals

  • Served over 9,000 people, including family members and caregivers

  • Launched and hosted 30 events

  • Primary locations: Brooklyn, NY and Boca Raton, Florida

  • Gifts, prizes, donations, grants, and swag given or awarded: $35,000.00

  • Network partnerships, social media campaigns
